Clinical Pyschologist Dr. Alan Tepp thrives on challenges—and on helping others to do the same—whether in his consultations with patients, in New York and Connecticut courtrooms, or on the slopes of a Colorado ski resort. His lifelong study of the human mind has led to a long and distinguished career in clinical psychology empowering patients and clients to change their lives for the better. And his recent successes in forensic psychology show he still seeks out and finds solutions for the most difficult and demanding cases.
Dr. Tepp received his doctoral training in Clinical Psychology at the Northwestern University Medical School in Chicago, Illinois and obtained post-doctoral training in Child and Adolescent Psychology at the Yale University School of Medicine. He began his training in psychology as an undergraduate at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, where he earned degrees in both Psychology and Learning Disabilities.
Dr. Tepp previously held academic appointments at Western Connecticut State University in Danbury, Connecticut and taught medical students at Westchester County Medical Center in Valhalla, New York.
Currently, Dr. Tepp holds an academic position as an Assistant Clinical Professor at Westchester Medical College in Valhalla, NY wherein he teaches Forensic Psychiatry to 3rd and 4th year Residents. He has also consulted with and offered professional presentations for school districts throughout New York State and Fairfield County, Connecticut.
Dr. Tepp has served as the President of Psychologists in Hospital Practice and currently holds membership in the American Psychological Association, the New York State Psychological Association, and the National Register of Health Service Providers in Psychology. Dr. Tepp is frequently sought out as an expert witness and is a member of the American College of Forensic Examiners. In addition to working with area attorneys and judges as a Neutral Forensic Evaluator, Dr. Tepp provides forensic psychology services for guardianship, fitness for duty, PTSD evaluations, victims of sexual abuse, TPR, and other issues pertinent to family law and personal injury lawsuits.
Dr. Tepp is licensed to practice psychology in the states of New York and Connecticut and maintains a rewarding private practice for the evaluation and treatment of children, adolescents, adults, and couples seeking marriage counseling in Mount Kisco and Fishkill, New York, and Ridgefield, Connecticut.
In his spare time, Dr. Tepp enjoys cycling, tennis, golf, and skiing, as well as instructing advanced skiiers at area ski resorts. He remains engaged with and endlessly fascinated by the latest advances in our ongoing effort to understand the human mind.
